Our Story

WR has a proven record of successful program delivery based on our dedication to our customers’ missions. Our story starts over 30 years ago, with developing custom software applications for some of the most demanding commercial customers of that time – including such notables as Rolex and Mercedes.

Over time, WR expanded into the government marketspace, and in response to customer demand, evolved into a full service systems engineering and technical services firm supporting critical projects for clients such as Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) and the Relocatable Over-the-Horizon Radar (ROTHR) Program Office (RPO). We have continued to support these customers and their missions for decades, while also expanding our client base.

Today, WR provides comprehensive solutions that include all facets of systems engineering and support – requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, training, life cycle logistics, maintenance, and repair.

We perform on multiple contracts for SPAWAR, RPO, the Department of State (DoS), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), US Army, US Coast Guard, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA), as well as Fortune 500 companies, major shipyards, allied nations, and several original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

WR Gives Back

WR has earned a reputation for remarkable customer service, as evidenced by our CPARS ratings, and our multiple repeat customers. WR is also known for contributing to the communities where we work and live through our partnerships with educational, social, and civic organizations.

Our Community Involvement Committee (CIC) organizes a variety of fundraising and morale boosting events. The primary fundraiser is the annual WR Systems Golf Tournament, during which employees, family members, friends, and customers come out for an enjoyable day of golf that raises funds for CIC. The proceeds provide the majority of the assets needed to support many causes throughout the year.

One primary recipient of WR support is Norview Elementary School. Each year, CIC collects school supplies for Norview, donates funds for the purchase of school uniforms, and organizes an Angel Tree in December to provide students and their siblings holiday gifts.  In addition, WR conducts a yearly drive to benefit the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore.

Other organizations supported by WR’s CIC include:

  • The Alzheimer’s Association
  • The American Legion
  • The Down Syndrome Association
  • Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
  • National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS)
  • Norfolk Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA)
  • Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
  • Relay for Life
  • The Samaritan House
