Healthcare IT Solutions

WRSystems is fast becoming a recognized leader in providing sophisticated IT solutions for healthcare-related information systems in government and private industry.photo of woman on telephone Drawing on a diverse and talented IT staff, WRSystems has successfully addressed a variety of healthcare-related technology requirements on several major systems. For example:

WRSystems was instrumental in the design, implementation, and maintenance of The DoD Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB) Automated Applicant Medical Qualification System, a major, web-based application that required significant expertise in developing enterprise-level applications with large user bases. Creating and maintaining this complex application also required an in-depth understanding of the organization's functional areas, workflow, and business rules.

WRSystems is providing Oracle programming support for DynaMedHLS, a system developed to manage the deployment of materials to support healthcare professionals in the event of a chemical or biological terrorist attack. Such incidents will require medical supplies and access to large quantities of pharmaceutical antidotes, antibiotics, and/or vaccines. The system was developed in response to Public Health Security and Bioterrorism and Response Act of 2002, which requires the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Veterans Administration (VA) to maintain a strategic stockpile of vaccines, therapies, and medical supplies. The system has already supported several large-scale events, such as the Olympics and the Super Bowl, and is in place at 75 VA hospitals and 11 Federal Government agencies.>

For the National Item File (NIF) Project, Veterans Administration Office of Acquisition and Material Management (OA&MM), WRSystems provided programming support to Information Control, Inc. (IC) to assist in the development of the NIF. As prime contractor, IC was responsible for analyzing, creating, deploying and maintaining the NIF for VA medical facilities, and WRSystems programmers directly supported that effort, making numerous valuable contributions to critical project initiatives. The VA's NIF database is populated with more than 8 million items. For the NIF project, WRSystems staff provided database design and development, software development and the creation of a user/session management facility utilizing Oracle data dictionary and Oracle dynamic performance views. The end result of the NIF project was a standardized inventory management system for all VA facilities that integrated with the VA's core financial and logistics systems.
