WR Hires 103 New Employees in 2020 Despite the COVID-19 Pandemic

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a COVID-19 pandemic on March 11, 2020. By March 15, the governor of WR’s home state of Virginia put lockdown orders in place. During the subsequent twelve months, the pandemic drastically changed the way we lived and worked. Despite these changes, our teams charged forward to continue our support of mission-critical projects. WR’s staff adapted new COVID-19 safety guidelines and continued to work on-site, in our labs, and from home whenever possible. WR pulled together during this unprecedented time to achieve a successful year of growth.

Our HR team and hiring managers, vetted, interviewed, and carefully considered each candidate, to meet the company’s growing needs. Our hiring team attended virtual job fairs and accommodated remote interviews; locating industry experts to meet growing company demands.

“WR’s employees as a whole were agile while making the necessary changes,” said Talent Acquisition Manager Almira Logan. “Hiring and onboarding all the new personnel over the last year was a team effort.”

Looking ahead, WR anticipates even more growth in 2021. Stay tuned for more!
