Building Service Excellence
The Building Service Excellence course builds on the Foundations course and provides instruction on how to use CMMI Services view to understand how to build capability in delivering and managing services by providing a detailed view of the domain’s practice areas.
This course may be taken immediately following the 2-day Foundations of Capability course.
- Foundations of Capability
- Individuals/teams interested in improving business performance
- Individuals/teams who want to effectively assess, improve, and sustain process capability
- Potential Certified CMMI Associate or Professional candidates with an interest in CMMI-SVC
VIRTUAL
Using the Cisco WebEx interactive platform, this course provides attendees:
- Live, instructor-led virtual lectures and class exercises
- Ample time allotted for participant questions and discussion
- 12:1 max class ratio
- Chatbox collaboration option
Required Equipment:
- Reliable internet connection
- Desktop, laptop, or tablet
- Headphones or reliable sound system
ONSITE
Classroom with WiFi
- Lectures, discussions, and class exercises
- Ample time allotted for participant questions and comments

- Student provided laptop or tablet
- Use of the CMMI Development 2.0 view to effectively assess, improve, and sustain process capability and performance.
- Certificate of Completion
- Completed Prerequisite for serving on a CMMI appraisal team
- Completed Prerequisite for any advanced CMMI training course

Together, these three courses provide a detailed view of the CMMI model along with the core and domain specific practice areas for the Development and the Services domains.
Please note that active participation is required throughout the entirety of the course in order to receive completion credit.
